New PCD face-milling and screw-in cutters

 

With the JEL®  PCD face-milling cutters and JEL®  PCD screw-in cutters, the KOMET GROUP has expanded their standard cutting tool range for machining lightweight construction materials.

 

 

JEL®  PCD face-milling cutters are known as monobloc tools with HSK-A63 tool holders, which are available as standard in the diameter range of 32 to 125 millimetres and up to 160 millimetres on request. The cutters, which are soldered into the massive main body, allow cutting depths of up to 8 millimetres and very high cutting speeds. Thanks to the monobloc construction, no adjustment is necessary. The JEL®  PCD face-milling cutters are available in two versions, with eroded cutters and with eroded, specialised cutters. The latter is suitable for very high quality requirements with a surface roughness < Rz 10 µm. Through fine balancing and very tight production tolerances, surface qualities < Rz 5 µm can be achieved. The tools are used primarily in the roughing and finishing of aluminium casting and solid material.

 

The also new JEL®  PCD screw-in cutters impress with their high flexibility and easy handling. The face-milling and slot drill versions also have soldered cutters. The advantage of a modular exchangeable head milling system is the high degree of flexibility achieved by individually adapting the tool to the individual machining task. The cutter heads can be quickly and easily exchanged, directly at the machine.

 

The PCD screw-in cutters are available in the face-milling version in diameters ranging from 10 to 32 millimetres and as a slot drill from 10 to 25 millimetres. The 'milling cutter construction kit' is completed by vibration-damped extensions, with the short variant made of steel and the long variant made of vibration-damped heavy metal.

 

The screw-in cutters are used in the pre-machining and finishing of aluminium components for face-milling, slot-milling, side milling and circular milling as well as for machining shoulders or grooves. They also solve problems involving long projections.
